New WordPress websites

For a new build, the project can include the technical setup, theme implementation, content structures, responsive templates and required functionality. If design is also required, the work can be quoted together with website design and development so design and implementation are treated as one project.

Existing WordPress websites

Existing sites are reviewed before changes are quoted because the theme, plugin stack, hosting environment and previous custom code all affect risk and effort. I will not quote a complex repair as if every WordPress installation is identical.

Custom themes and plugins

When the requirement is primarily presentation and reusable templates, a custom WordPress theme may be appropriate. When the requirement is business logic, workflows or integration, a custom WordPress plugin is usually the cleaner approach.

Performance and maintainability

Development decisions are made with maintainability in mind. That can mean avoiding unnecessary libraries, keeping custom functionality separated from presentation, using WordPress APIs correctly and reducing reliance on tools that make future editing harder than it needs to be.

Ownership and handover

After the agreed custom work is completed and the project is fully paid, control of the custom deliverables is handed to the client subject to third-party and open-source licences. BuildRank Studio does not retain control of a website simply to force an ongoing maintenance agreement.

What I need to quote

For a new build, provide the required pages, functionality, content status and any design references. For an existing site, provide the website URL and explain the required change or problem. Access is only requested after the project is accepted where it is actually needed.

Common questions

Do you use page builders?

Only where they are appropriate to the existing site or agreed project. Custom work does not automatically require Elementor, Divi or another builder.

Can you work on an existing theme?

Yes, after reviewing the current setup. Some changes are safe to make within an existing theme; others are better handled with a child theme, custom theme or plugin.

Do you provide ongoing support?

Yes. WordPress maintenance can be quoted separately when ongoing updates or technical support are needed.
