Maintenance is scoped to the website

A simple brochure site and a site with custom integrations do not carry the same update risk or support workload. The current hosting, theme, plugin stack and custom code are reviewed before the monthly responsibilities and price are confirmed.

What is not automatically included

Maintenance is not an unlimited development subscription unless the quotation specifically says so. Major new features, redesigns, migrations, large content changes or third-party subscription costs may require separate scope.

Backups and updates

Where backups form part of the maintenance plan, the method depends on the host and current website setup. Updates should be approached with appropriate backups and checks rather than applying every change blindly on a business-critical site.

Existing problems

If the website already has errors, outdated custom code, malware, broken updates or a large technical backlog, an initial repair project may be required before routine maintenance begins. That work is quoted separately after review.

Related development support

When maintenance reveals a requirement for custom functionality, the work can be scoped through WordPress development or custom plugin development rather than treating major development as a routine update.

Is maintenance required after every project?

No. Ongoing maintenance is optional unless the project quote specifically includes a support period.

Do you pay for premium plugins and hosting?

No, not by default. Domains, hosting, premium licences, APIs and other third-party subscriptions remain client costs unless they are expressly included in the quotation.

Can you maintain a website you did not build?

Potentially, yes. The existing setup is reviewed first so the ongoing risk and workload can be understood before a monthly commitment is made.
